The one thing I love about Atlanta is the plethora of restaurants. I don’t think I really became a foodie until I moved here. I cooked on occasion and baked on occasion but I never really had a passion for food, like i do now. Food for me is so much more than just something to eat. A meal does not have to be overly fancy for me to enjoy it. In fact, during the work week I like meals that are quick to make and taste good! When I first moved here, I made it a point to try a new restaurant every Friday night. The good thing is, there are always new restaurants popping up around here so it is extremely possibly to try a new restaurant every week and then some!
Now that I am married, I don’t try as many new restaurants as I used to, but I definitely cook a lot more and experiment a lot more in the kitchen. Having to cook myself has definitely enhanced my love for food but as I said previously I need to keep it somewhat simple during the week!
I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy almost a year ago so you will find some wheat free recipes on here from time to time. Most of my baking is for my husband (or sometimes for my family or my office) as I can’t force them to suffer through the lack of wheat in their diet because of me. I *try* to make most things as healthy as possible, that being said I still believe in a naughty treat here and there! It is never good to deprive oneself!
During the summer months I like to go from container to table! I hear this is sweeping the nation! Cooking with food that is straight from the garden makes everything that much tastier! If you have the space to do a garden or even a container garden, I highly recommend!
That is pretty much me in a nutshell! When I am not working, baking, cooking, or gardening, I spend my time exercising, reading, or relaxing with my husband.
I hope you enjoy this site!
Erin
